1961 Snow White Board Book from Germany

Published in Germany in 1961, a delightful little Snow White hardcover for children. As a board book, it has thick paperboard covers and interior pages. Illustrated by artist Wolfgang Schafer (who also created a few of the Schneewittchen movie posters). Simple, colorful, gorgeous artwork. A total of six pictorial pages (including front cover); the back cover is blank.

  1. Here are the translations:
"Aye, Sweet Child, trust in me, You'll find this apple to your taste."

"Then came a Prince, and what luck! The coffin fell over, and the Apple piece loosed itself."

Of course, this is a bit on the nose, since they're written in rhyme. but to make to rhyme in English I'd have to change the text a bit. Interesting that they chose the Grimm's ending over the film's.
