1980s Theme Park Attractions Tin

A rectangular tin with illustrations of Disney characters on park rides was sold at the theme parks in the early to mid-1980s. This particular container held 32 ounces of peanut brittle. Box dimensions: 8" x 6" and 4.5" tall. Hinged lid.

On the front panel, Snow White, Doc and Dopey are riding the King Arthur Carrousel at Disneyland or what would have been referred to at Walt Disney World back then as Cinderella's Golden Carrousel.

The lid features Minnie and Mickey sitting on a bench along Main Street USA.

The left panel has Daisy and Donald riding a Doom Buggy with two hitchhiking ghosts. The right panel shows Goofy and Donald flying about on Astro Orbiters.

Goofy, Donald, and Jiminy Cricket watch the Mark Twain on the Rivers of America at Disneyland or what would have been the Richard F. Irvine paddlewheel boat at Walt Disney World. The top rear edge reads, "COPYRIGHT WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS."

The tin was made in England by Hudson-Scott & Sons Ltd. We also see a Walt Disney World label for the peanut brittle.

Another tin housed salt water taffy.

The same illustrations appeared in 1985 on what is probably a slightly newer version of the tin. The main difference is seen on the front panel which now was curved rather than flat. The dimensions were also smaller at approximately 4.5" x 3.25" and 3.5" tall. It contained hard candy.

Imprint "© 1985 WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS" on lower back panel.

Made in England.
